Getting Started
Let's discover SMSwithoutborders(SWOB).
Introduction
The steps below will help setup your account and start using swob.
Step 1. Download App
Download from Google Play Store , Github or build from source
Technical Requirements
- SMS capability Android smartphone
- Android 6.0 and above
Step 2. Create an account
Sign up for a free account on smswithoutborders.com
An authentication pin will be sent to a valid phone number which can recieve SMS.
Step 3. Log in and save access to platforms
One of the key features of SWOB is to be able to save access to online services while you have an active internet, then use the App to make requests to these services without an active internet connection. Once you login and click on Wallet, you will have a list of services we currently support. You can save your credentials for as many services as you can foresee further need in an offline situation.
Step 4. Synchronize your App with your account
Requirements
You will need another device (either a personal computer or another phone) which will have the QR code you will scan with your phone. You will have to make sure you are logged in to your account on this second device so as to access your QR code.
After you have logged into your account
Synchronizing your App with your account can be done by clicking on Profile on the navbar. You will be presented with the button Sync with App. Clicking the button will open up a QR screen with a QR code for you to scan. Open up your App and scan the code; more instructions on scanning the code with App below.
On the App
The first time you open up the App, you will be asked to synchronize. This is done by scanning a QR code with your phone's Camera. Once the code is scanned, you will be asked to enter the password you created while creating your account. On successful password entry, you will be presented with a list of all the services you currently have offline via SWOB.
Step 5. Configure your App and begin utilizing
Once you have synchronized your App with your online account, you can begin setting it up. The most important setting you may have to use out of the box is choosing which Gateway number to communicate with. It will be cheaper for you to send out an SMS from the same service provider as the one you use, or send out an SMS from a number in your country than doing across service providers or internationally.
To change the Gateway number your App will be sending the Text to, click on Settings in the App, then choose the number you will rather be using. You can now begin utilizing that number from your Gateway.
